Common Singing of Vujičić (Vujicsics) Brothers
Specific group of recordings consists of common singing of brothers Tihomir and Stojan Vujičić, of three traditional songs from rural settings of different South Slav areas performances: Dalmatia, Montenegro, and from South Serbia. Vujičić brothers sing together and accompanying one another. It is obvious that they strive to perform with the highest level of similarity to original songs versions (which might be considered as an antecendent of contemporary neo-traditional approach to singing traditional songs). These performances may also be considered as attempts connected to Tihomir Vujičić’s aim to put the recordings and transcriptions in service of practical work in amateur groups dedicated to cultivating South Slav folk music. Recordings are not dated.
