Title or incipit: Pomisli se, mila mati, kad si bila mlada [Oh, dear Mother, think of the time when you were young]
Locality: Felsőszentmárton/Martinci
Played by: „Kovačevićka“ (the wife of Steva Kovačević), folk choir and tambura orchestra (and some male voices)
Year: unknown
Comment: Same performers as in the previous number, only this time men’s voices are joining. – Song for the dance, recorded independently of the function – dancing itself. Cheerful character and lively pace, lines with goliardic rhythm. Strophic structure (quatrain with pair-rhymed couplets; in vocal part, the second verse is repeating; exeption is the third strophe, under these circumstances reduced to the first couplet), with instrumentally performed melody of the (vocal) strophe as the interludium. The symmetry of the form is intensified by regularity of inclusions of the male voices at the repetition of the verse. Congruent structure is key determined by parallel movement of the vocal parts in thirds, as well as in classical harmony relations, including cadence on the tonic.
