Comment: Bećarac, one of the typical vocal forms with pronounced communication function; it is performed during gatherings for festivities (for instance at weddings), or for entertainment, while drinking. Mostly rhymed couplets (sometimes with Leonyn rhyme) follow one by one in free order and sometimes their lyrics are made up on the spot, depending on skills and spirit/mood of the singers. Contrary to their short, couplet form, bećarac is regarded by singers themselves as a huge form which demands long time of performing, right because for achieving its full effect the long-term sequence of couplets is necessary, to form the order appropriate for certain situation.
